Sunbeam
Sunbeam are the German duo Michael Gerlach and Florian Preis. They hit the dance charts back in 1994 with their first single, 'Outside World', which was re-released in 1999 with new mixes. They also records as part of the Trance Allstars, members of which include DJ Taucher, Talla 2XLC, ATB, DJ Mellow-D & Schiller.
| CD Single: Dreams[573889-2]
Released 1997 on Motor Music GmbH. Written and produced by M. Gerlach, F. Preis, Shanin Moshirian, Michael Simon, R. J. Jordan and F. Bueller. Vocals by Marike. A bit of a weak affair from Sunbeam, especially when compared to tracks like Outside World.

CD Single: Wake Up[KONTOR098]
Promo release. Officially released 1/2000. Written and produced by F. Preis, M. Gerlach. Additional remix and production on track 3 by Miss Shiva. This is another great trancer from Sunbeam, sounding very similar to 'Phoenix', which featured on the Trance Allstars compilation 'World Wide'. Both main cuts are excellent.

CD Single: Outside World[KONTOR066]
Written by F. Preis, M. Gerlach. Produced by M. Gerlach. Additional remix and production on track 2 by Christopher von Deylen & Mirko von Schlieffen. First released back in 1994 this is a killer trance tune with an instantaneously reconisable melody. All three main mixes are excellent - great tune not to be missed.

CD Single / 12": One Minute in Heaven[KONTOR144 / RAD99088-2]
12" Released 1/01 on Kontor Records GmbH. CD released 8/01 on Radikal Records (USA). Written by F. Preis & M. Gerlach. Voice by Jason "JAM'ON" Ammon. Additional remix and production on track 2 (12") by Marcus Boehme, Martin Hensing & John Leonardo Lepore. Additional remix and production on track 2 & 5 (CD) by Marcus Boehme, Martin Hensing & John Leonardo Lepore, on track 3 by Harem Doctors. This is a pounding new track from Sunbeam, with the Club Mix coming out on top. With a similar heavy beat as used in 'Wake Up', this track hammers along, accompanied by deep male spoken vocals that thankfully are not as cheesey as the title may suggest. This track is considerably harder and darker than Sunbeams previous tracks, although this isn't a bad thing. Future Breeze add a lengthy remix, keeping to the same format as the Club Mix although opting for a lighter bass line, as do the Harem Doctors - neither of these additional remixes compare to the power of the Club Mix but if you're not into anthemic trance then these will suit you better. Excellent stuff.

CD Single: Tomcraft vs. Sunbeam - Versus[0070415ERE]
Written and produced by F. Preis and M. Gerlach. Published by Loop Dance Constructions mv GmbH/Hanseatic & DJ Tomcraft. Additional remix and production on track 4 by Niels Van Gogh & Jorg Zittrich and on track 5 by Major Problems. This is a bit harder than most of the Sunbeam tracks i've heard to date and lacks the usual uplifting vibe.
Other Info:Sunbeam also records with the Trance Allstars. Probably one of his best tracks to date, Phoenix, features on the Trance Allstars debut compilation album 'World Wide'. Sunbeam have remixed DJ Mellow-D's @ Night - don't miss this excellent anthem. For further information on Sunbeam see their Official Web Site.
