PIET BERVOETS
Dutch producer/remixer P.W.B. (Piet) Bervoets was born
on 21-07-1970. His first production ever was called
"PWB" with the track "Dark Desire". Piet Bervoets is
also the brain behind some very cool clubhits like
"R.O.O.S." with "Instant Moments (Waiting For)",
"Carlos" with "The Silmarillia" and "Rush Me".
Together with Benno de Goeij he
also produced the second
Innercity-theme: "Rank 1 -
Airwave".
They also made some very cool "Rank 1" remixes together
like "System F - Cry", "Cygnus X - Superstring", "York
- Reaches Of Civilisation", "Angelic - It's My Turn"
and one of the best ones: "Baby D - Let Me Be Your
Fantasy".
But Piet Bervoets also works togehter with other famous producers like
Ferry
Corsten, Carlo Resoort and Tijs Verwest (DJ Tiësto).

Duo van 2 DJ's en Danceproducers. Sinds 1997 scoren ze onder verschillende
kleine projecten grote en
kleine hits. Rank 1 is hun hoofdnaam, DJ ste en liveact/ De projecten
bestaan meestal maar 2 of 3
nummers. Slechts weinig mensen kunnen de nummers via deze namen koppelen.
Rank 1 maakte al
meerdere grote klassiekers.
In 1996 besloten Piet Bervoets en Benno de Goeij samen te werken. In
het begin in het project Team
Deep. Later maakten ze samen onder de naam R.O.O.S. de klassieker Instant
Moments. Er volgden nog
2 singles. In 1998 kwamen er onder de naam Carlos 2 singles uit. Hieronder
zat de klassieker The
Silmarillia. Beide werden ze door Bervoets gemaakt. De singles deden
het vooral in Groot-Britannië erg
goed. Ook richtten ze een eigen club op. In 2000 bereikten ze in Groot-Brittannië
de top van de Dance-lijst
met Airwave onder de naam Rank 1. Ook werd het een hit. Verder bereikte
de remix van Superstring van
Cygnus x de Nederlandse top10. Later in 2000 werkte de Goeij samen
met DJ Tiësto aan het project
Kamaya Painters. Na een tijdje rust kwam in de zomer van 2001 het nummer
Such is life. Een
protestsingle tegen de doodstraf. In de donkere clip is iemand te zien
die een nachtemerrie krijgt over de
typisch Amerikaanse doodstraf met injectie. Het is gericht tegen de
Amerikaanse president George W.
Bush die een half jaar eerder aan de macht kwam en als gouverneur de
meeste doodstraffen op zijn naam
had staan. Het is hun zoveelste klassieker.

This highly
commercial sounding vocal trancer is a complete change in direction
for Rank1. The
vocals work well with the underlying trance tune, which itself
is typically anthemic; no
doubt this will be big in commercial club land. The Sunday Afternoon
Rework is a
short, more down-tempo affair, based largly upon the vocal, whilst
the Deep Dub
steps back on the throttle, dropping the vocal and opting for
a pounding, deeper
electro vibe, pausing only briefly for an mid-track anthemic
breakdown. The Marco V
Remix is a tougher rework of the original version, again vocal
based although less
euro-trance in style.
