Like Rank 1 , Kamaya painters and Dutch Force should ring a bell. Benno is responsible for those projects. Already in the early days of trance he was a big name.
Tracks like I know (hidden sound system) and turn me on (Ceres) were high quality tracks. I think that Benno de Goeij is one of the better trance
producers. But not only trance is his style,  as Jonah he makes progressiv techno. And not only he produces he also performs live on stage together with Piet
Bervoets, off course as Rank 1.

When and how did you get in touch with house/trance music?
      ->   I was at a birthday party four years ago when I met Piet, who was already making dance music at that time.

               ...trance must come from the heart and not from your bank-account?

Some people say that trance is getting more and more commercial. What?s you?re opinion about that?
      ->   When a particular style in music becomes popular it will always be commercial as well, because people buy the records. In a way trance music nowadays
is getting too commercial as everybody wants to make a trance hit! But I think trance must come from the heart and not from your bank-account?.

Together with Piet Bervoets you are performing live on stage. What can people expect when they are going to see Rank 1 live on
stage?
        ->   First of all the next time we will perform again will be at Sensation in July. Its very difficult for me to say what people can expect. I think you just have to
see for yourself if you like it or not. Our main goal is to bring our music to the public!

What plans do you have for the future? Albums/new projects/labels?
      ->   Were working on the new single with vocals, we want to make a good one again and not just a follow up. After that we will concentrate on our album. We
didnt had that much time because the live act consumed a lot of energy and now its time again to focus on a new single. That's why we?ll have a break for half a
year with our live act!

In my opinion you?re variation in style is one of the big quality?s. Compare Airwave with a track like summerbreeze. Those 2 tracks
are really different. How do you make such different tracks and still keep them good?
      ->   I think its necessary to keep making good melodies that come from the heart, I could make tons of records that are all the same, but then it would not be
from the heart anymore.

Kamaya Painters, Rank 1 and The quest are some producer names of yours . Sometimes I wonder how you get all those cool names?
      ->   That's the most difficult task for us when completing a new song! Most of the time we ?ll just pick something that sounds nice!

Some short questions now...

What?s the best Rank 1 remix you?ve ever made?
  ->   For me, that would be the latest one. Its a remix for a Japanese pop star, but I cant spell out her name! I don't know whether it will be released here?

If you could say,  with who do you want to make a record ?
  ->   Difficult to say, because we have our own way of producing, which might conflict working with someone else! But I like the Lange sound, he?s definitely a
  good trance producer.

What music do you listen to at home?
  ->       Normally I only listen to the radio on the background. But the style I like is the Irish stuff, like U2 or Clanned. There?s a lot of feeling in it.

Is there anything you want to say or to add?
      -> The questions said it all!
